We film engagement films that feel real, relaxed, and timeless, in the same documentary style as our wedding films. No awkward staging and no forced moments, just the two of you.
Whether it is a walk through downtown Toronto at golden hour or a return to the place you first met, we shape it into a short film that actually looks and feels like you. It is also the easiest way to get comfortable on camera before the wedding, so the big day is your second time in front of us, not your first.
Silver Leaf is the two of us, Dario and Kyrill, and one of us films every wedding we take on. The engagement film is filmed the same way, by the same people, so your films feel of a piece.

What it is
What is an engagement film?
An engagement film is a short film, usually one to two minutes, of the two of you before the wedding: relaxed, yourselves, and fully present. Couples use it for save the date announcements, their wedding website, playback at the reception, and sharing with family. It also sets the look of your wedding films early, so everything feels of a piece.
Real connection
Natural interaction, not posing. We give light direction and simple prompts, then let the two of you be the two of you.
Places that mean something
Your neighbourhood, a park, the waterfront, or the Toronto spot tied to your story. If you are not sure, we suggest a few.
A practice run for the wedding
An hour or two with us months before the day, so by the wedding you already know how we work and stop noticing the camera.
The packages
Included free with Classic and Complete
The engagement film comes free with Classic and Complete. The included session takes place at least two months before your wedding, and it cannot be swapped for anything else. It can also be booked on its own. Reach out and we will quote it for you.
All prices in CAD, plus HST. Every package can be customized. In the builder, any package with two videographers includes the engagement film.

Things couples ask us
Do we have to perform or pose?
Not at all. We film documentary style, so we give light direction but never ask you to act. We focus on real interaction, conversation, movement, and moments that happen on their own.
Where do engagement sessions take place?
Anywhere meaningful to you: downtown Toronto, your neighbourhood, a park, the waterfront, or a spot tied to your story. If you are not sure, we are glad to suggest locations based on the look you want.
What should we wear?
Neutral tones, minimal patterns, and outfits that feel like you. Comfort matters more than trend. Once you book, we send simple wardrobe guidance so the film looks cohesive.
How long is the session?
Most sessions run one to two hours, enough time to move around a location and work with the light without feeling rushed.
When will we get our film?
It depends on the season and what you need it for. If you are working toward a save the date or a website launch, tell us the date when you reach out and we will plan the session and the edit around it.
Is it included in your packages?
Yes. The engagement film is included free with Classic and Complete, and it can be booked on its own. The included session needs to happen at least two months before your wedding, and it cannot be swapped for anything else.
Can we book an engagement film with Essentials?
Yes, as a separate booking. Reach out with your dates and we will quote it. If you are weighing Classic instead, keep in mind it already includes the engagement film along with a second videographer and an edited ceremony.
How do we book?
Reach out with your wedding date, your preferred timing for the session, and any ideas you have. We will help shape the concept from there. We are currently booking 2026 and 2027.
