Real weddings · Burlington
Jessica and Haseeb got married at The Pearle Hotel & Spa in Burlington on a Saturday in August, with Lake Ontario right outside. The ceremony and portraits were at The Pearle, and the day ended on the dance floor.
We film mostly documentary, with a little editorial mixed in, so this film follows the day the way it actually unfolded: from a quiet morning in Hamilton to portraits by the water at sunset.

The story of the day
The morning was split between two places. Haseeb and his family got ready at The Pearle, so that is where we started. From there we drove to Hamilton, where Jessica was getting ready at home with her mom and her maid of honour. Covering both sides of a morning with one videographer takes a little planning, and Jessica built the timeline around it.
Before leaving for the venue, Jessica did first looks with family and friends at home. Those are some of the quietest, most honest minutes in the film. Then it was back to The Pearle for their own first look and portraits with Purple Tree Photography. We film our editorial moments while the photographer works, so the two of them only had to do portraits once.
The ceremony was at 2:30 at The Pearle. Later, as the light went, they stepped outside for sunset portraits by the water. A hotel right on the lake makes that easy: no shuttle and no lost time, just a short walk out while the sky does the work.
One planning note worth passing on. Jessica and Haseeb extended their coverage to 9:30 pm so the film would have the dance floor and not stop at dinner. If your best moments are likely to happen after the speeches, plan for that early. Our guide to building a wedding day timeline for better video walks through how.
What you see above is their highlight film, the whole day cut down to a few minutes. Our highlight films page explains how we put one together.
Their engagement film
Before the wedding we filmed their engagement film in downtown Toronto, at Osgoode Hall, Nathan Phillips Square and around the black towers of the TD Centre. It is a very different backdrop from a lakeside hotel, which is part of the fun, and it gave the two of them a feel for being filmed before the big day. More on how those shoots work on our engagement films page.

More weddings on the lake
The Pearle is our first film in Burlington, but not our first wedding on Lake Ontario. If a waterfront venue is on your list, these two are worth a look:
- Nicolas & Candace at Harding Waterfront Estate. A lakeside estate in Mississauga, with the ceremony at the pond and the reception in the Glass Pavilion, all on one property.
- Tory & Grant at Hotel X Toronto. A winter wedding on the Toronto waterfront, with the skyline and the lake outside.
